About MapleTriage

A Canadian-built, privacy-first AI medical triage platform, designed for Canadian healthcare and currently in active development.

What is MapleTriage?

MapleTriage is an AI-assisted medical triage platform built in Moncton, New Brunswick, by Joel & Nanz Inc. It is designed to help healthcare teams capture a patient's symptoms quickly, organize that information clearly, and guide patients toward the right level of care. The goal is to reduce the documentation burden on nurses and clinicians while keeping every patient interaction structured, consistent, and easy to review.

MapleTriage is an early-stage product in active development. We are building it deliberately, with privacy and clinical safety as first principles rather than afterthoughts.

Important: MapleTriage is a triage and documentation support tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace a licensed healthcare provider. Patients should always consult a qualified clinician for medical decisions.

Why does MapleTriage exist?

Canadian healthcare teams spend an enormous amount of time on documentation and triage paperwork. At the same time, much of the health technology available today processes sensitive patient data on infrastructure outside of Canada, under privacy rules that do not match Canadian expectations. We believe Canadians deserve health technology that is built here, governed by Canadian privacy law, and kept on Canadian soil.

MapleTriage was created to close that gap: smarter triage and documentation, without compromising on where patient data lives or who can access it.

How is MapleTriage different?

Privacy-first by design

Patient information is protected at every step. We design the platform so that sensitive data stays encrypted and protected, aligned with PIPEDA and Canadian health-privacy expectations.

Canadian data sovereignty

MapleTriage runs on Canadian infrastructure. Patient audio and transcripts are processed and stored within Canada, never sent abroad.

Built for clinical language

The platform is being tuned to understand medical terminology accurately, so clinical notes are captured cleanly the first time.

Made in New Brunswick

Designed, built, and supported by a Canadian company that answers to Canadian customers and Canadian law.

Who is MapleTriage for?

MapleTriage is being built with Canadian healthcare providers in mind:

What is the vision?

Our long-term vision is a triage layer for Canadian healthcare that is trusted, transparent, and entirely sovereign: a system clinicians rely on to do the routine work of capturing and organizing patient information, so they can spend more of their time on care. MapleTriage is also the foundation for related innovation work, including edge and offline-capable concepts for settings where connectivity and confidentiality are critical.

As part of building responsibly, MapleTriage is pursuing innovation funding through Canada's National Research Council Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP), with technical-readiness documentation and a structured evaluation process underway.
